No question about it, JR & Kelly all the way!!!!!!!!! DEI should be run by his children.. after all, JR is the one racing. You don't see Teresa at the tracks watching it. I think Teresa is making a big mistake by letting JR & Budweiser go. JR is the most popular driver out there, and no matter what team he is racing with, he will still be the most popular. I think he will have a chance at winning more races & maybe a championship once he is away from DEI. Go JR Go!!!!

I see Dale, Jr. in the #3 or the #25 (or 5) Bud car next year. He has said that he really does not want to expand JR Motorsports to run Cup. DEI has proven that they cannot put Jr. in a competitive ride. Gibbs is a long shot and any other teams are out of the question. Note: Dale Earnhardt Incorporated was named as such by Dale Earnhardt, Sr. when he started the company, long before Jr. ever drove a Cup car (he won two Busch titles for DEI).

I side with Jr and Kelley on this one. Teresa has been difficult since the beginning of their relationship. I believe Dale Sr. started this company to leave more than just money and memories to his kids. He wanted them to have a future in racing and that was DEI. I don't blame Teresa for wanting to keep control of the company since she was a major contributor to idea's and marketing, but it's time for the next generation of Earnhardt's to take over. Jr. doesn't even have full control of his team! I'm sure he feels more like an employee than a partner. I think the reason for Sr. leaving the company in his wifes hand's was the age of Jr and Kelley. I'm not sure how old Kelley is but I know Jr. was just in his 20's when his dad died and he was just starting in Nascar Winston Cup. I think if he would have lived a little longer the majority of the company would have gone to the kids.

Teresa couldn't run a 7-11 let alone a full on NASCAR team.
Jr. will leave and never look back. Teresa is all about the Benjamin's and not winning races or a championship.

Consider DEI down the toilet after Dale jr bails.

Here's an answer/question to your question.

You and your wife own a huge store, you make millions every year. Your kids run the electronics dept, the hunting/fishing dept. and the auto parts dept.

You die WITHOUT a will. The courts say, "wife, you own the store".
Your kids, want the store now.
But it was you and your wife who invested all the money to get it started.
Should your wife just roll over and let a "salesman" in the auto dept. take control of the store ? Even though he invested ZERO MONEY in the store ?
I don't think you would just GIVE AWAY your business, why should she ?
He wants controlling interest, he needs to come up with some money. Jr. is a DRIVER at DEI, under a contract, nothing more.

None of us will ever know the real contract or structure of D E I.As to who was right or who was wrong each of us has our own thoughts on the matter.
I think Junior now has a chance to build the team/company he wants to.He will not be an overnight success but he could be in a very good position in a short time.
As for D E I they will not fold. They may scale back operations to a single or 2 car team. But once they settle on a driver and set up for him they will be back in the thick of competition.

Lets be real, teresa blew it, it could not get worse for dei, it is great for Jr motorsports and for Jr himself. The anticipation for next season may just override anything that will happen the rest of this season...

Gotta side with the kids. Dale created it for them. Guess we all learned why its important to have a will though. Teresa is in it for money and has let the racing side of it slip.

DEI has lost its way. What used to be the nicest, biggest shop complex in Nascar has fallen behind the competition and become stagnant. If you aren't moving ahead, you're faling behind.
