Today I watched a girl run cross country at school and by the first lap she was in the lead so she walked a little of the way and still won

Nope, sorry buddy. Unless you can walk faster than you run?

I walked once, i had the lead for half the race, got too confident, walked maybe 50 steps, and then zoom, got smoked. I couldn't catch up for the rest of the race.

If you slack, even a little bit, someone will always steal your momentum.

The best I ever came was 3rd. lol. I built up enough of a lead to walk to the finish line, i got a ribbon, and some laughs from my friends.

Point Blank: People are wayy to competitive for that, even if walking was allowed...people would still run to try and win, sucks huh?
