Titles don't need to be changed when you move from one state to another. If it's your registration that you're referring to, it won't be a problem. Just remember that if you're 2 months late, it'll be backdated, meaning that you'll pay for 12 months, but you'll get 10 months (since you've already had 2 months.) It's no big deal.

Good luck, and my condolences.

You can title the car at anytime. If you do not know where you DMV is look in the phone book. It should be listed there. Or ask a friend or neighbor. they will be able to tell you. What you will need to do if have the car inspected (If needed in your state) and have it smogged (If needed in the city you live in) then you take that information down to the DMV with your prior license / Title information and have new plates (If you are in a new and different state) or tags given to you.

Yes you can its a long process you have to go and reapply for a title again and then show proof of insurance and pay a few fees (they differ from state to state) but just do that and you wil be ok.
