i'm pretty sure it takes about 6 months to see full results from the vitamins...they take a while to get into your system, plus they won't help the hair you already have , they will help the new hair that grows, which takes time. so keep at it and you will see results.

I always used to cut them myself when my hair was long, but if your hair is shoulder lenght or so then i'd be almost impossible to do so, and that's why now I hope I dont' get any or I'll just have to go to the salon to get my hair trimed. About the vitamins, I don't know how long it takes for them to start working but I read in a magazine that fish oil in capsules suplements are great for hair and skin too.
Also, a good trick to avoid split ends is to always use a wide tooth comb when detangling your hair to avoid pulling it too much which is one of the main causes of split ends. Good Luck!!! ;)

Never cut split ends yourself unless you have skills and professional sissors. If you cut your hair yourself and you use the big orange handled sissors the blade is different and this is why you continue to get split ends. Get your ends cut professionally every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how bad your ends are and on how fast your hair grows. and as far as hair and nail vitamins, well honestly I could never really tell if they really worked. If they did you should notice a difference within... I'd guess two weeks. My professional advice would be to get trims on a regular basis, use good products, take it easy with the hot irons, and on occasion treat yourself to a hot oil or protien pack. Good luck !!

I occasionally trim my split ends on my own when they get bad and noticeable. I'm not sure how long it takes to notice a change when you're using a vitamin supplement to treat your hair. But I do know that if you continue to fry and dye your hair while taking vitamins for it, they'll be no good because the damage you're causing your hair will over power the supplement.

Well you could cut them yourself but I wouldn't recommend that. When ever you cut your own hair you might be using the wrong tools. Meaning, most of the time, people who cut their own hair do not use the right scissors. Bad scissors chew up your hair and with a short period of time they will give you more split ends than before! Over a period of time you will get tired of having split ends and keep cutting lenght on your hair. You should let the experts do their job, some people hate spending money on saloons but it is well worth it.

I have very long, gray hair that I wear in a pony-tail. When the ends split, I usually cut about an inch or two off. When my hair was shorter, years and year ago, I got a haircut every month, so there wasn't really many split ends to deal with.

I suggest you go visit a salon and get a haircut once in around six weeks or so to avoid more split ends. Well yeah I cut them myself sometimes but there's nothing like the feeling of freshly cut hair. To avoid split ends, quit using your flat iron too much or maybe you should change your hair brushes too. Use a detangler for your hair if you hair is wet and a paddle brush with rounded bristles when it's dry.
Best of luck :)

There on the prompt are actually not any 'magic' fixes for chop up ends. they might prefer to be cut back off. If now no longer, the hair will purely save breaking off. come during a robust hairdresser, as directly as you have had the 1st haircut you may desire to prefer to bypass in many cases, which for long hair might desire to be each and every 6 to eight weeks, short hair each and every 2 to 4 weeks.
