yes, he is the deceiver, the "father of lies", and scripture says he can "appear as an angel of light", he loves to play tricks, to lure a christian into believing his lies and so he can entice a person to act on it, and then run & report your sin to God,

"He has many devices, and and traps, to trip a person so that you fall into sin and feel guilty, or he'll send a spirit of depression or fear to overwhelm you, all the while he's laughing. Anything to stop a christian from praying and doing good, especially to his children and those who are in enimity against God, he hates people who do good to their enemies, because it destroys his works.

But Jesus said "My sheep know My voice", and to "resist the devil and he will flee" That's why it's important to spend time each day in God's Presence, and in His Word, let Him teach us. Hide the Word of God, deep in your heart and you will recognize immediately, what is not of God.

I know the Lord showed me that the mind is the devil's battlefield, that the devil can't come near you without the spirit of fear, alls he has to go on, is the past, and he can't harm you as you are covered by the blood of Christ Jesus, All he can do, is make suggestions and try to drop a thought in here or there.

The Lord showed me that if you are doing something and you're thinking of a particular thing, and all of a sudden your thought is changed to something completely different that has nothing to do with what you were thinking about to begin with, or it produces fear or worry or anger, in you, when before you were happy & content, then you know it was the devil, and not your own thoughts, because before then, you were thinking or doing something else. He also showed me not to trust every thought that comes into your mind as some have been lead astray this way. Scripture says to "always test the spirits, whether or not they are of God", and to "put on the full armour of God that you may be able to withstand the wiles of the devil".

When the Lord speaks, it is always in line with His word and what He's already told you or already done in your life. "The devil roams the earth, to & fro seeking 'whomever' he may devour", to deceive people with his lies, The Bible says "the devil came to kill, steal, & destroy". He is very cunning and tries to counterfeit everything God said with lies. It also says, "there is a way that 'seems' right to a man, but ends in death" and to"renew your mind so that you may know what the good and acceptable and Perfect Will of God is"

See the devil knows that in order to entice a person to sin, he has to present it in a pretty package to lure you into wanting it yourself. Look how he twisting God's word around to Eve. So he'll do whatever it takes, he'll mimmick, smile, whatever. A wicked person who plots evil, spends his time scheming to hurt others, and he'll look you right in the eye & do it with a smile on his face, and appear to be friendly, trustworthy, good and kind, he'll even feed you a nice meal, and the whole time he's plotting in his heart to kill you.

One thing I had to learn early in my walk with God, was that the devil likes to sow weeds in your garden to try & choke out God's word, steal your joy, stir up strife and arguments and such. He'll put suggestions in your mind about your wife or husband, or someone he knows you care about, when they are late, he'll make suggestions like, they're with someone else, that they really don't care about you, that they're using you, or that they've been in a horrible accident, or whatever he can use to stir up fear & anger, so that by the time you see him/her, you're angry and have a big fight, or you stay up all night worrying. When the whole time, the person was actually innocent and totally faithful to you, or completely healthy & fine.

Ever since the Lord showed me that, I began to notice that not one of those ever happened or proved to be true, they were all lies. Once I recognized these were the devil's accusations, and efforts trying to "sow discord", and arguements, and I turned away from them. "The devil is the accuser and the father of lies"

I known others who got caught up in a huge mess, because they thought God told them to do a thing, and it seemed right, and just ran away with it without ever stopping to pray about it, and ask God to confirm it, or check it out in God's word,

so yes, satan tries to mimmick God. What helped me on this, is someone once told me, just to think of satan's words and all he does like a counterfeit dollar bill. On the surface, it looks the same, and if you don't know all the little marks and things on a real dollar bill that identify it and seperate it from the rest, you would spent it unknowingly, and the whole time, it was fake, and not worth a thing.

Hi Mulereiner

Yes Satan can and does counterfeit the still small voice with a voice that I call the false Jesus. It can give you directions and to do things contary the what God wants you to do.

But you can always test the spirits when you are not sure if it is Jesus speaking by saying. "Do you confess that Jesus came in the flesh and walked on earth to reddem men?"

If the voise does not answer it is not of God. If the voice swears at you then its not of God. But if you get a yes then you have Jesus or the Holy Spirit and you can continue. Jesus does not mind how many times you do this, but I only do it when I am not sure.

I hope that helps you.

Testing the Spirits is valid and mentioned in 1 John somewhere.

Yes to answer your question their is a voice that mimmicks God's.

Bless ya

Matthew

PS don't let this false voice stop you from listening to God and doing what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Satan is a counterfeit of Christ. He tries to deceive people and succeeds sometimes as he is very cunning and a great liar. He does it in ways that lures people away from the truth of the Lord. Religion is the best tool he has in deception = cults. Another is pride. Satan tells us what our flesh wants to hear to satisfy self because he knows our weaknesses and uses it against us. He does these tactics in front of our very blinded eyes and some don't even see it. There's a spiritual war going on and satan has come to rob, steal and destroy lives. Thru the power of The Holy Spirit and the armor of God (His Word), we can overcome and some do. Which voice are you listening to? Satan's or The Holy Spirit's. This is the choice we must all make and live eternally with the consequences. God bless your decision.

He can and he tries. Satan even has a "spirit language" that mimmicks the Holy Ghost. That's why he easily fools some people. The Bible says know that which laboreth among you for there will be wolves in sheeps clothing. It says try the spirits and see if they be of God. That's why we have to be careful and pray and seek the Lord concerning people.

Yes he can and he does quite often. That is why we need to remain very close to God so we can recognize His voice like sheep recognize the voice of their Shepard.
I see a lot of people said that Satan will always lead you to sin or will always lie. That is not quite true, sometimes Satan will lead you in a good direction but it is not the direction God has for you and therefore is not what is best for you. Satan does not mind if you settle for second best, as long as you do not get Gods full intended blessing.

He can try, to those who do not know Gods voice!
Jesus says "My sheep here my voice and they know me"

When (very rarely) I think I hear God speaking to me, (eg. turn the Channel off!) and am not sure it really is Him; I ask would this be pleasing to my Lord. And if in someway it would have a future connotation, I go by the rule, when in doubt - Don't.

Have you ever heard the saying you can't stop the birds from flying over, but you can sure stop them from nesting!?
This Scripture might help you;

2Corinthians 11
13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
14 And no wonder! For satan himself is disguised as an angel of light.

and this one...

1John 4:1
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Bless you... in your journey with the Lord!*

No. He can't speak to you in "that" small voice. The Holy Ghost was given to us by God, and Satan cannot imitate "that" voice. He can try his best to decieve you in so many ways, but the still small voice is reserved only for God to communicate to you. Those who know how the Holy Ghost speaks to us could never mistake that feeling for a sorry attempt from the evil one. God has given us the means to communicate with him, and has told us how He will answer us, I know that HE speaks to us through the Holy Ghost, and when we are clean and willing satan will never be able to mimmick "that small voice". GOD BLESS.

The Word of God says, "My sheep know my voice, and a stranger they will not follow." Satan may attempt to imitate, however darkness can never fully copy light. If you have been tuned into the voice of God, you will know through discernment the truth and the false. Listen to your spiritual ear, and be lead by the spirit, (that's what it's for) to help you tell the difference.

Of course, and it is not always easy to tell his voice. He uses a glint of truth in an ocean of lies-what con men do, which are the best lies of all. They always pull on our weaknesses or desires. The bible is God's true voice and anything God says will line up with scripture, and Satan is never more dangerous than when quoting scripture. Re cults. Paul wrote 'no marvel, Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light' false light.

Satan can, the only thing he cannot do is deceive the very elect of god,he can change himself into the angel of light, his demons into preacher's of the gospel, but he cannot change into the holy spirit of god,and the true believers will never be deceived, they recognize the Shepard's voice. And they know satan's.

Satan tries to do everything he can to make you not to believe the Word of God. Guilt comes from Him and conviction comes from God.

You need to know God's Word, then you know if God is telling you something against His Word, then it is Satan. Put the full armor of God around you and no evil is able to penetrate. : )

PS: Take "you" as a general word like "one".
