We always say God is almighty. Yet, can God make us love Him? He has been persecuted, hated, and blamed for every horror on this earth. The only Son that He could truly love, who came to show us the deepest heart of our Father, was murdered. Were there any of His prophets that did not suffer?
We were never meant to pray to God, not in the beginning, before the Fall. He would have been as close as our own skin, with that intimacy that any parent desires with his child. But the Fall destroyed all that. Now, there is such a deep separation, that certain practices have become necessary in order to begin and maintain that relationship. God can have nothing to do with evil nor with our sinful nature. Those are not part of His creation. Therefore, we must make an offering of ourselves, dividing the heavenly nature from the sinful nature that exists within us, through such practices as prayer and fasting. When we can reach a deep and sincere level of prayer, the most pure and innocent part of us is sort of separated and exposed, bubbling to the top, in a way. It is then that God can directly touch us and melt away, at least for a while, all the trash that infects us.
And we often hear that "God knows us". Well, to observe His child going through life, a child who just can't make the time to talk or even acknowledge His existence - How wonderfully satisfying that must be for God! I still think it takes two to make a relationship, even if one of them is God. Of this I am sure - when He hears YOUR voice, it will bring a cosmic joy to the heart of the Creator of the Universe and the Father of all humankind. Now that would be a meaningful prayer, don't you think?

Because we want to know. It is in human nature to be inquisitive about things, we don't know. Animals don't have this feature. That is the reason we see advancement in science, which has benefited the mankind. And there is no change in the lifestyles of animals, and it will always remain same. So man has a power of wisdom.
Having been gifted with such a nice instrument ie intellect (mind), we obviously should make best use of it, when we know that we are privileged in our human bodies.
And as we all know that we are two beings, one our body and second is our soul. While we are doing everything in our capacity to nurture our body needs, knowing very well that it is eventually perishable, we don't give any thought of providing food to our souls. And that is the cause of all our woes.
Prayer is what we need for our souls, and that can be done only with our association with a real saint. Gita and Bhagwat will come later.

He asks, no, he petitions us to pray! This is part of our having a relationship w/ the All Mighty Creator. How can you have a relationship w/ anyone human if you do not communicate? How do you plan on drawing close to him, if you do not communicate. It's not a matter of him knowing or not knowing us and what we are struggling with and what is in our hearts and minds. It's a matter of drawing close & remaining close to him.
Philippians 4:6 says , "Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God." We've already established that he knows us, so if we are anxious, he knows that right? So why does he tell us to petition him, pray to him? Ask and you shall receive. If we need him, we can't just expect him to help us if we don't ask, just cause he knows what we need. If we want something bad enough, we beg, this shows how MUCH we need, and God wants to give, but we must express to him how much we need him & how we rely on him to help us.
I could go on & on, but that could take forever. If you have any more questions, visit www.watchtower.org

You are right. Prayer is a scam invented by christianity to convince the slaves of the Roman Empire that they could not think for themselves, and to prevent them from becoming creative. Christianity's goal was to populate the Roman's institution of human slavery with robotic zombies. Creative slaves might devise some scheme to escape, which they did in France in 1789.
God created us to be creative, to create knowledge that he does not have access to himself. He will give us no help whatsoever in creating new knowledge lest he lead us down all the unsuccessful paths he followed in search for the knowledge he seeks before he created the human race. If you ever have a contact with god, it will be he who does the contacting, not you. You are on your own so all of your creations will truly be original and unique. You may one day provide the clue that leads to the answer he is seeking.
Don't waste your time "praying", just THINK for yourself. If you "pray" and perceive an answer, it is YOU answering your own request.

So that we can come to know and love Him as He has known and loved us first. So that we can have a loving relationship with Our Holy Father who created us to glorify Him. It's only meaningless if our heart does not belong to Him. And yes He is Almighty!!

Our Creator knows what we need before we ask for it.
Prayer should not be begging for things. But personal communication with our Creator. Just talk to the Creator.
Communicating through the dimensions is not as easy as picking up the phone. However, that is a good way to describe what it is. If we want to get through to our Creator, we have to pick up the phone, so to speak. Open the lines of communication, and keep them open. That is what prayer is.

Of course, God created us, knows us, and most importantly--loves us more than we can imagine. When we pray, it's an act of humility and submission to the Lord, and God shapes our character that way. It's not meaningless. If you call COMMUNICATING with the Lord Almighty MEANINGLESS, I don't know what you would call MEANINGFUL. It is a PRIVILEGE to have direct communication with the King of kings-Lord of lords-Creator of the universe.

If you pray nobody will listen. Praying is the way to know thyselves and realising the GOD at later stages. Prayers reduces burden of fictious responsibility betowed upon the individuals. At some stage we will realise that the reason for things happening around us is not us but GOD (Nature). The SIN (self identity notion) is sin and prayer is Beliving that every reason is God (nature) alone.

It is not meaningless to those who appreciate him, any more than it is meaningless for us to speak to our own family members...

Prayer affords us the opportunity to demonstrate what is in our heart, to ask for help, to give praise, & to share feelings & goals with him.
"Why should we pray at all?"
In a nut-shell: Out of Love...
One of the scribes ... asked [hrist Jesus]:
“Which commandment is first of all?”
Jesus answered:
“The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart ... soul ... mind and ... strength.’ ... There is no other commandment greater...” --Mark 12:28-31

When we can salute and wish somebody not known to us or somebody who has done nothing top us . why not pray to somebody who according to you has created us and who knows us ?
It should be meanignfull.
But how do you call that what created you as HE in the first place ?
Why do you call that HIM as almight ?
Is he winning warsa and saving lives and innocent lives in times of war ? Those who caused the wars are safe in her palaces and thosw ho are in no way concerned are dying in the war .What is that ALMIGHTY doing in such a situation? What do yu mean by the term Almight ?
