The best shampoo for this is Sunsilk Straighten-up shampoo, conditionaer and 24/7 creme.
1/ Use the shampoo
2/ Use the conditioner
3/ get out of the shower and towel dry your hair. Then, brush out the knots, and "flip" your hair. Put your head down and then bring it up forcefully to get all the water out of your hair. Then, use a quarter size amount of 24/7 creme and massage it INTO your hair.
4/ Airdry hair
5/ In the morning, brush your hair, and perhaps straighten it with a straightener if you want it to be super sleeky and straight. It will make straightening hair 80%-90% easier then without the shamp, condish, creme.
6/ ENJOY YOUR HAIR!!!
Oh, and it's the purple bottle: and smells HEAVENLY

I have the same problem...get some Bath and Body Works moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I had tried everything, but would never try it cause I just thought it would smell good and not work well. I had no luck with anything else so I tried it. Its the only shampoo and conditioner I will use now. Its only $15 for both also. My hair is never dry ( I dont even have to use a leave in conditioner anymore), its so soft, no split ends, and it smells great. Try the Cucumber Melon.

For the most part Shampoos will not protect your hair from thermal damage, but a good shampoo to use would be Matrix Sleek shampoo and conditioner! It is for people who straighten their hair and you are going to want to get something like Kenra Thermal Styling Spray. It will protect your hair from the heat of the flat iron. Don't use products from Walmart and Target they aren't professional and they can actually damage your hair instead of do it any good. Talk to your stylist they can help you with picking the right products for your hair.

use a product in your hair before you use your hot iron and after you shampoo, that will protect better than a shampoo since you rinse that out. Try Loreal Hot Straight, or there are so many out there just go to the store and look around for a heat protectant, sprays are a little lighter than creams if you don't want anything too thick.
