I am Jewish, and I think the OT should be dropped from your bible, because the OT is the Jewish bible. We each have our own bible:)

Over time, things change, but I don't believe the Old Testament should be taken from the Bible. As it is, all the old testament isn't even there. Although I believe the old testament is much harder to understand than the new testament and you can't say half the names, I think that it needs to remain because it was original and it would be misleading to a point to not learn about the old testament at all because it's part of history. I'm Methodist.

Why keep the OT? I'm going to work from the assumption that you think the NT is true. Jesus didn't come to go against the OT, he came to provide a new covenant for people to be covered under. Jesus himself quoted the OT prophets and met with Elijah personally; He never contradicted the OT, he simply added new interpretations to the Mosaic law.
by the way, I'm Nazarene

The Old Testament give background and compliments The New Testament.

Yes the New Testament does replace the laws of the Old Testament for Christians, but there are a lot of lessons there that can be used by a Christian.

No. It's the background for the New Testament, and even though it must be interpreted in the light of the New, it is still the revelation of God to man. What right have we to drop it? I'd say none.

I can best be described as a Zen Episcopalian. The roots of the New Testament are found in the Old Testament. It would be difficult to see Jesus as fulfillment of prophecy if you whack off the prophecy.

There are countless parallels between the Old and New Testaments, notably those between the Exodus stories and Jesus (desert experience, temptation, passover).

Jesus Christ is our Passover sacrified for us, therefore let us keep the feast. If we lose Passover we lose that rich understanding. This is merely one example.

Don't do anymore damages to the bible. It has suffered enough damages since Luther took out the 7 books. If it is taken out, those who used it won't be called Christians, they will be called New Testamentians.
