Find a tanning salon in your area that offers booths with higher levels of UVA rays (browning) and lower levels of UVB rays (reddening). The tanning consultant should be able to tell you the exact precentage (look for a booth with less than 5% UVB) and if they can't RUN because the tanning salon probably isn't very reputable. Also ask for the consultant to recommend a good lotion that contains DHA and natual bronzers so that you can get a boost of tan simply from the lotion.

If you do this it should only take 4-5 sessions to build a base tan. Go back 1-2 times a week to maintain your color.

when i first started tanning i was snow white and I'm now a nice glowing brown. i recommend that you go 3/4 times a week and use a an indoor tanning lotion recommended to you it also depends on the wattage of the bed how well you tan. i started off slow just 5 minutes for 3times then moving up to 6etc i only tan for 10 minutes and iv been tanning for 3yrs that's because the place i go there bed are very strong and the bulbs are changed regularly also leave 24 House between each session and at least 48hrs between your first and second session as this gives your body time to produce Mellian and start tanning. it took me two weeks to get a nice glowing colour

hope this helps

Despite what most people think burning doesnt mean your tanning! Burning will make your skin harder to tan! Lotions are wonderful for helping you tan faster and it helps not to dry out your skin. Also, there is a vitamin called Biotin....it is amazing! you can get it at a drug store (walmart has it for less than $5). If your really pale...start off at only a few minutes...increase each time you go by 2-3 min. Youll get there!

Hi! I'm pale too ^_^

Go to iamtan.com for some really good info. It's a forum and they have all the info you could ever need. Plus they're nice people.

I joined and I remember there being a short time period before they let you post your own questions/topics. So you might want to join right away so you can get to askin' away pretty soon.

I just suggested this website to someone else, as well. It's a good one, really informative on many topics.

i`m white white WHITE naturally, which i loathe..but i haven`t seen my natural color in years, because i use a tanning bed year-round, & have for more than 15 years now...it didn`t take me long to get tan, because i always get a good color & never burn, my problem is i lose color quickly...but, yeah...if u go 3-4x a week, for about a month, that should give u a good start...
