Mu husband and I recently moved into our new house (we were married a little over 3 weeks ago) and the walls are bare. We like traditional styles with clean lines, any ideas on wall decor?

Paintings that you both like. Making a family wall somewhere in the house is nice for pictures of old family members and the new to come.. Fabrics or tapestries make it feel homey. Study the paint color samples and add a bit of color somewhere. A towel rack or a small shelf of some kind is nice in the bathroom or the kitchen. What kind of floors do you have? They are the other walls. Area rugs in colors or neutral colors add comfort and they are not like wall to wall, they can be tossed when they are no longer cleanable or passed on if you get really tired of them. Take a little time and wander yard sales and used stores. Art galleries are fun. When you travel keep your eyes open for things of quality that you both like and could share in your home.

I am a big fan of MIHO Unexpected Things, an Italian Design company that makes stylish, fun and affordable home decor and wall accessories. Especially their bird houses and faux-antler trophies are a great way to accent empty walls, and add a nice contrast next to paintings, posters or signs. http://www.happyhomedecor.com/1_miho-unexpected-things

If you are looking for printed art, paintings or photos, Whitewall is a great website. They offer a selection of motifs in all kinds of categories, from classic to modern, and the best part is, you can select what type of support they're printed on. You have classic canvas print, or aluminium, or direct print on acrylic glass, it's very cool and whatever your interior design style is, they have the matching medium. The price is not exactly cheap, but the quality is top professional level, and the prints are shipped ready to hang. I have bought from them several times, and with one exception, have always been more than happy. https://eu.whitewall.com/

Find one nice big picture [ or group of 2-3-4 smaller ones ] for the biggest wall space in your living room, such as over the couch. Try a wall mirror over the fireplace or opposite the biggest window. Add some 3d art such as samplers, wood cutouts, sconces, wall ornaments.
Try to keep all framed artwork in one or two colors/materials:
gold/brass/copper, pine/oak/cherry/, or blue/red/green. that way you can rearrange things periodically if you wish.
This system will work in all the public rooms of your home.
In the kitchen you can use copper or brass molds, trivets, potholders too fancy to use, etc.
Don't forget to put some items in the bath, as well. I would also add a candle, for reasons we won't discuss.
Your bedroom could also have some honeymoon souveneirs
[ fans, a tshirt, collage of sea shells ]
When you have kids don't forget to add their best artwork to the decor.

I am a big fan of picture frames with metal wall art. I love to frame our pictures with complimentary metal wall art pieces. I like the 3 dimensional aspect of the metal sculptures with the emotional side of family pictures or art. I have used http://buymetalwallartsculptures.com in the past. They have some really cool traditional pieces. I really like the more modern or abstract pieces and they are not too expensive either.
