I have a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville SE. I was looking for something that will increase the security of my trunk for I don't happen to come out to my car one day finding my amp and speakers missing. Is there a product out there that will fit my car that will help protect my system? I am planning on getting a good alarm system, but is there anything else that you all would recommend?

Here's a high-tech approach.

If your trunk has a cable release, disconnect it.
If your trunk has an external key cylinder, disconnect it.

Then, get an aftermarket alarm kit that comes with an actuator for the door or trunk, install the actuator so that it will pull on the trunk release linkage inside the trunk lid.

From now on, your trunk can only be open via this remote control.

As a safety backup, you may wish to relocate the factory cable release to a secret location in the car, in case something happens to your remote control.

Since you now have a "customized opening method" for your car, it would be very hard for anyone to figure out how to open your trunk.

an alarm system wont do anything. thieves will just grab it and run. use screws with hex or square heads on your speakers and amplifiers. you could put a bolt through the bottom of the speaker box into the floor of the trunk. another way is to put eye bolts into the box, run a chain through, and locking it to your car. the best way to just prevent a break in is to not let everyone in the area know you have subs worth stealing when parking your car.

I continuously turn off my radio 4 blocks from my domicile. i don't turn it on till i'm 4 blocks removed from my domicile. i haven't any sort call stickers on my truck. My truck sounds like a P.O.S. and no person might think of it has a device in it. It has the generating facility wheels on it. Get an alarm, tie up an English Mastiff (huge canines) to the motor vehicle, take a seat on the roof with a 12-gauge shot gun. in no way go away the face of the HU in the motor vehicle. Thieves know the place they are left (in the glove container, under the seat).

Hmmm...you just gave me a good idea for mine.

A delay trigger for a keypad.

When the trunk is opened, I have X amount of seconds to enter the correct code before an alarm goes off and headlights flash.

Cool, thanks.

Honestly if they want it that bad they will get it anyway.... but keep it simple and don't bump where you live.... if no one around knows you have it they won't take anything

Good Luck

Sit on your porch in plain sight and clean your guns,...................................right out there for all to see,........................an NRA bumper sticker couldn't hurt either. I guarantee that if you shoot the first one who tries to steal from you,...............................nobody else will try.
