Most Christians believe that imagination or anything of the like is a gift from God. We DO believe that we should use our gifts to thank God, but not every single second of every single day. Spiderman does not glorify God. It only wastes hard earned money. Cars do not glorify God. We glorify God when we thank him for our imagination or when we use our imagination to help someone in need.
Please quit being a bigot. I find it funny that the so called open-minded leftists are the ones who are usually most outspoken against Christianity. Try a little research, before you make an assumption about an entire group of people, rather than using a few answers off a troll ridden site as your "proof" that Christians are incapable of thought.

Our imaginations are a reflection of God's creativity and our opportunity to, in small way, participate in creation. I don't know if Spiderman glorified God -- I didn't see it. I'm sure there are some good thing in it. Christians argue heatedly as to whether the Narnia movie glorified God, but I think anything that opens our eyes to the fact that the world is a lot bigger than we realize is good (sometimes).

The Bible says G-d made humans "in His image." G-d has an imagination! (Just look at the diversity of animals and environments and snowflakes and stars and people!)
G-d made us in His image, so like Him, we have an imagination. We can use it for good or for evil, just like any other tool.
P.S. Up until about two hundred years ago, most of European and American fiction was written by imaginative Christians and Jewish people- as was most music and most art.
I first realized that I needed to know G-d and that He loves me by watching a secular made-for-
TV movie one afternoon. That was the vehicle He used to catch my attention and reach out to me. :)
I watched another movie my health teacher showed one day in school-- Night and Fog-- a documentary put together with music and a script which also incorporated movie footage shot by British, American, and Russian soldiers as they liberated concentration camps in Europe. I still feel the impact of that movie today. It changed my life. The world must never again condone the racism and apathy and evil which led to the deaths of so many millions of Jews and Gentiles through systematic and planned executions.

Imagination is good. It's creates a concept. I mean if you really think about it, that IS where MOST of your Art, Movies, even cultural landscapes.(Like that mountain with the presidents faces of them. You had to imagine it before you came up with a plan.) And movies are supposed to entertain you, not admit subliminal messages in them. (Except the Intermission; "Let's all go to the lobby and get ourselves a snack...") Common sense: When you had a bad/hard day, you want to go to the movies to GET AWAY from the real world. Even if it's only for two hours.

I'm a Christian with a very vivid imagination. In fact, I play Everquest II, read Harry Potter Books and have a tattoo. (I'm just hell bound, right? LOL) These are all things that unimaginative Christians who are not stable in their beliefs have told me were wrong. I don't think God meant for us to live in caves all this time, or else he would not have given people the imaginations to come up with the things we have today. He just meant for us to be responsible in all we do and in how we utilize the resources he gave us. Imagination is one of those resources.
A Christian wrote the Narnia series, so we are not all without imaginations.:)

There is nothing wrong with imagination - all of our modern inventions have come from imagination. Imagination can be a good or bad thing - there have been many things brought into existence that are hurting/have hurt many people and our society. So, in my opinion, I would say that imagination is a necessary and wonderful thing that God gave us - but how we use it ends up being up to us since He also gave us free will.

why would Christians think there was anything wrong with imagination? I'm a Christian and i've never seen anything or any one say imagination was a bad thing, even if it didn't glorify God.

I am a Christian and I do have an imagination. I love imagination and I think that without it, we would lack creativity and uniqueness. We're able to dream about so many aspects of our lives and strive for things we probably wouldn't because of our imaginations. Without it, life would be boring, predictable and we wouldn't get and experience all that we could. Its good to get out of reality sometimes. I hope I make sense : - ]
