the issue on his # depends on DEI racing. If they want him to change it after he leaves DEI then he will have to change it. Just depends on what kind of mood Theresa is in on the day she makes her decision. We will have to wait and see.

I doubt that the 8, or the 1 will be leaving DEI. Teresa doesnt care about those things. She believes she will be able to make a buck because of her last name. Nascar might step in and do something but I doubt that they will, RCR might give Jr the #3, although it will be a little weird seeing a big red budweiser car with the number 3 on it rolling around the track. I just hope the guy isnt really getting his stuff built by Hendricks, I think he should go with Gibbs Racing. Hendricks has a big enough team as it is with what they provide.

Sorry to be the bearer of Bad news,
As Far as I can tell #8 belongs to DEI. Unless Teresa sells it ,which I Doubt, Jr will have to get a new Number. If Jr owned the #8 the he would already own DEI and we would not be having this Conversation.

I knew all alongside that Jr would not be protecting the 8. the motor vehicle # continuously maintains to be with the owner of the motor vehicle, no longer the motive force. Mark Martin did no longer cry because of the fact he left the #6 after 20 years, why might desire to Jr have been dealt with in yet in any different case?? definite, that's time for a sparkling initiate & a sparkling variety. i wish Jr does properly next 365 days yet i is only no longer partial to hendricks motor activities...

To ALL!! don't panic. Jr will be taking the number 8 with him along with Budweiser's sponsorship. Jr has a copyright on the slanted number eight. If you notice, you'll see a copyright symbol by all his items next to his number. My Fiance is a die hard Jr fan and has the knowledge of him that makes me jealous. She stated this and it was clearly made in his book "driver number 8" about senior telling Jr to copyright his grandfathers number 8. The book was published in his rookie year.
Plus, all the number 8 Sunday lingerie my fiance wears cannot go to waste.

Just because the slanted number 8 is copyrighted doesn't mean that the number itself belongs to Jr. All that means is that if another DEI driver gets the number 8, they won't be able to display it with the same slant that Jr. uses.
All that being said, it's tough to tell if DEI will release his number or not.

The 8 is property of DEI as far as NASCAR racing is concerned... They can give it to Jr, sell it to Jr, or keep it... Jr cannot just take it!
Kenneth, Hendrick is making the best motors out there, so why wouldn't Jr. want one?? His whole leaving thing is because HE WANTS A CHAMPIONSHIP, and he will spend any amount of money to make top notch cars in his pursuit of it...

I think he'll go with the 98, Dale raced that number in 1978 1 time and had a top 5 finish.

If Teresa won't give Jr 51% I seriously don't think she'll give him rights to the #8. I wonder about those poor people that have tattoos of the #8 on them.......what are they gonna do now??
