Lidocaine is the greatest thing to ever happen to dentistry. The doctor pulling the tooth will numb you up with injected lidocaine, and when pulling the tooth you won't feel anything at all.

After the extractions are done and the lido wears off, you might feel some soreness, but that's easy to take care of with some OTC analgesics (your dentist/oral surgeon will tell you which ones to take).

Whether or not it will hurt after the extraction depends on how good you follow the post-op instructions. If the blood clot falls out of the empty tooth socket, bare bone becomes exposed and that will hurt a lot-- This condition is called a "dry socket". Your dentist/oral surgeon will give you post-op instructions to prevent that.

Good luck.

It doesn't hurt, what you'll feel is pressure. You'll be all numbed up. Ask your dentist if he has nitrous oxide? (Laughing gas) That will relax you & you wont really care what they are doing. Just stay as calm as you can & close your eyes & think about something nice. It wont take long. Don't worry so much about it hurting, it wont! If your having 2 teeth pulled, I'm guessing they have been hurting you? That is worse then anything your gonna feel when they pull them! I've had 4 wisdom teeth pulled & 4 other teeth pulled. (not all at the same time) Good Luck!!!

I got 4 teeth pulled when I was about your age, and i was just on laughing gas. It did not hurt one bit. Your gums will probably be numb so you won't feel a thing. The worst thing about it to me would be when the numbing goes away, it just feels weird to me, it does not hurt at all, but it feels like your lip or something is asleep (only when the numbing is wearing away) You should not be terrified at all, it does not hurt a bit. There is some medicine you can get from your dentist that calms you down before the surgery, just in case you are still nervous, ask your parents or dentist about that.

I have been in your situation before! Last year I was 12 and I had to get 2 teeth pulled. Don't worry. The only thing that hurts is the novacane. Otherwise, you'll just feel a pull. Once your teeth come out, wait as long as the dentest says for you to eat, then treat yourself to a ice cream or slushie. Hope this helps! Good luck!

No big deal, and I'm known to dentists far and wide as Mr. Chicken.

For my star performance, since I now have dentures, I had 14 teeth pulled one after the other on top, then dentures put in an hour later.

Two weeks later, they pulled the bottom 12 remaining teeth and put in the lower dentures.

Didn't feel a thing.

Only 2? Piece of cake! :)

I would be too. If UR 13 years old, that means your teeth are not
baby teeth. Why? can you save them? YOU MUST. Anyways,
it does not hurt at all. First the dentist will put an anesthetic on your gums, then an injection that U will not feel. You will only feel your gums numbed.
I insist: Try to save those teeth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've pulled out 4 for braces and they didn't hurt as much as I though. I got the shot, the doc came in, wiggled it, and that's it. Close your eyes. And ask if you can bring a mp3 player when he takes them out. Afterwards, no pain. Just follow the docs directions. I'm going in to remove 4 wisdom tomorrow. Just think how much better you'll feel a month from now!

Hello

I just got 14 teeth pulled out and 10 implants loaded. It all depends on the dentist you are using. If s/he is a very good one you won't feel pain because you will be given proper anesthesia and proper pain killers.

It doesn't hurt too badly. The needles to numb you are the worst part, then you don't feel a thing. Just try to relax and go somewhere else in your head to block out the pain.
