Your background will be checked,
you have to be bondable, and you should have a clean police record,although some co's mat be a little less demanding than others.
You will have to be licensed for the line of ins you want to sell.
It is no 8 to 5 job, you have to find your own customers,and it is hard work.
But it can be very rewarding if you have what it takes.

You will be fingerprinted, they do a background check with the FBI and your local government, and you have to answer a few questions about your past, I'm in AZ so I'm not sure if a credit check is done in CA. If your background is clean then it will go pretty smooth.

My husband had to get fingerprinted to sell cars but I think Insurance and moragaes are more lax. Of course the market is overly saturated with salesmen and getting hired means you have to furnish your own leads.
