I have this best friend. She is a great girl, amazing actually. She has a very pretty face...is blonde...has straight teeth and a medium build.
The problem is she has a slight stutter. It's not that bad, mostly when she gets excited or upset...but she is so self conscience about it. So much so that it's really hard for her to open up to people especially men.
She thinks she's too heavy, (which is ridicoulous because she's the same size as me and I am married)
I just don't know what to do with her. We're LDS, so she's pretty picky about wanting a husband who served a mission, but the problem with that is the older she gets the younger the returned missionaries are....and the 30 year old men who served a mission and aren't married yet surely have something wrong with them right? (her sick double standard...lol)
Are men willing to put out the effort for a woman who takes a while to crack? Once you do, she'll make a wonderful wife. Any takers? help! :)

Oh yea...I forgot to mention...she DOES have the most beautiful singing voice...incredable in fact. She herself went on a mission, and sang the majority of her discussions...:) She's such an amazing person.

I'm taken, but you should know your friend might be a talented singer. Country great Mel Tillis is a stutterer since a kid, but when he sings one would never know it.
Your friend may always stutter, but then one day she might stop altogether. Worse than her stuttering, the woman has a depressed complex that will tear her down if her confidence isn't built up stronger. Work at her confidence building; perhaps the stuttering will wane.

Help her with her stuttering by telling her about The Stuttering Foundation and their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" as well as their web site www.stutteringhelp.org. I come from a family of stutterers who became fluent by working through that book step by step. It make a world of difference in your life.

maybe if she wasn't so picky about a husband who served a mission. I'm sure there are plenty of guys out there who for some reason or another didn't serve a mission but are still outstanding guys.

What about catholic Irish-Mexicans with a portion of Cherokee.
The stutter doesn't matter becaue at least you wil know when she is excited and in time her comfort with you should lessen that stutter. Besides, you don't talk all the time and sign-language is easy to learn.

I am not an LDS. But if I were, I would have no problem with her stutter. We all have imperfections and if she were willing to accept mine, I would certainly accept hers. A real man will not have a problem loving her for who she is.

I suspect its because she is sure that nobody will stay interested in her.
