Here is what I expect

Have a working knowledge of the English launguage if you can only speak French move to Quebec or New Brunswick

If you can't speak English you endanger lives in the work place You must be able to give and recieve instruction in the native toungue of the nation or you should not have a job as you may hurt or kill yourself or others - because you can't speak the lauguage - it does not matter a dam how qualified you are if you can't communicate you are a danger to others in the work place END OF STORY

Do not bring your wars and other disputes to my country - We have our own I don't care about yours - If you bring your wars to my nation you are a danger to the public
If you have a religion that prohibits you from wearing a certain style of uniform Do not apply for that job and expect the rules to change
Do not refer to your old nation as your country
"In my country we did this or that"
If Canada isn't your nation you belong "at home" go there

1) I am a Canadian

2) I did not move to your nation -

3) If I did I would obey the law and learn the language

4) People who move to my nation did so because there was somthing seriously wrong with thier own Or they would not have come

5) Since the people who have chosen to move to Canada did so because thier nation failed them in some way they should study the sucess of this nation and copy not lecture me on how I should copy the failed state from which they came

I totally agree with both you and Lucky..( good answer)
It seems to me that the favoritism is on the side of people who go to America and Canada and want to disobey the laws and change the cultures of these two English speaking countries. When my ancesters came to America, over a century ago, they had to conform to Americas laws...and now in America, it is the other way! ( I don't know if it is the same in Canada)
I've seen photos of illegal immigrants flying the American flag upside down with the Mexican flag flying above it!! It really fires me up! And all I can say is that, if you love your country so much, why don't you just stay there!
America and Canada have their own distinct cultures, which we've strived so hard to maintain, ( until rather recently) and I see all of it being lost and pushed back, in order to kiss the butts of illegal aliens. America needs to show some backbone, and inforce the same rules our grandparents had to obey, in order to become legal citizens!
I'm really getting madder by the second here, as I spill my coffee on my keyboard, from pounding on the keys! ;~(
Wake up! or we'll be taken over for being so stupid!

I would never have believed it, something we can agree on. Please don't tell anyone though it wouldn't look good.

I see the constant reference to assimilation and citizenship when discussing illegal immigration. It appears to me that many do not understand what assimilation and citizenship means. Here is what I think.

Assimilation and Citizenship: What it Means

1) It means pledging your loyalty to The United States and respecting its flag over all others.

2) It means speaking our common language English.

3) It means respecting American traditions, customs, heritage and symbols.

4) It means supporting the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

5) It means adopting fundamental American values. Examples are freedom, equality, fairness, respect, patriotism etc.

6) It means accepting the American way of life and other Americans. If you come to America you are coming to be a part of it not to change it.

7) It means respecting and obeying the law even if you don't agree.

8) It means contributing to our common welfare and national defense. Examples; educating yourself, getting a job, paying taxes, serving in the military, volunteering to work in the community, contributing to charity, running for elected office, owning your own business etc.

9) It means participating in political debate and voting in elections.

10) It means understanding Citizenship and its responsibilities.
