Welders make a range of pay from almost nothing to a whole lot. The main factors in the differences in pay are: 1) qualifications - are you certified, trained in the backyard, highschool grad, tech school grad, military trained; 2) what part of the country are you in? City folks make more than country folks. NY makes more than 'Possum Trot; 3) For whom do you work? US Gov., oil company, Bob's Fillin' Station? Welders are just like everyone else, a great range of jobs and a great range of payments.
