My Cat has been gagging off and on for the last 24 hours. He throws up a little white foam but does not throw up his food.I think he may have a hairball but he hasn't thrown a hairball up. He is also cranky and not himself. Do you think he does have a hairball? if he does, what to do about it?

This sounds like constipation, or it could be a virus or kidney failure. Best thing to do is to take him to the vet! Don't wait and make him suffer more.

Well he could. Sometimes there hairballs get too big. If it is too big, maybe the cat cant eat and that explains the the crankyness. Go to the vet and ask for an X-ray. they may have to remove the hairball by surgery

Yeah, I agree. I phone call to the Vet is in order. I have a cat that did this once, and it turned out he was having a flare up of crystals in his bladder. The gagging was from the pain he was experiencing. Always a good idea to have the animal checked out.
