that the earth's magnetic field is decaying at a rate of five percent a year?
I'll tell you why that, although it is true, it doesn't aid in the debate of creationism after a few answers

The reason this doesn't help them is because of a phenominon called magnetic reversal. If you took out a chunk of the earth that was over then thousand years old, our gravitational field would have our compasses pointing east. During magnetic reversal, the field renews itself as it switches position. That's why the creationist argument is useless

I think their point is since it is decreasing, it used to be stronger which in a universe billions of years old would cause problems.
As for magnetic reversal. They are basing that argument on fluctuations in the magnetic field, there is nothing to prove any type of reversal.

Until God decides to stop being a prick and come to earth in a column of light to tell us He created us, I'm sticking with the Big Bang theory thank you very much....
EDIT: Fine, if GOD made the Big Bang and evolution, why doesn't He just say so? Honestly, the universe will not blow up if He makes his presence known in more obvious ways than a 2000+ year old book and a bunch of whack jobs who "claim" to kill in his name.

hardcore christians are funny
everytime something is proven, they readapt their logic
first denial
then anger
then frustration
then alter the arguments and scope, and then blast the limitations of science
but science is immune to that... science is simply existing knowledge, which changes over time... but since religion does that too, we can say we have a weakness here

I'm so glad to read information from someone who has done their homework. (Unlike certain other people who tend to grasp onto only parts of scientific facts -- otherwise known as the parts of scientific facts that are convenient to their agenda--while ignoring everything that contradicts their beliefs.)
