Business professional would be suits and ties for men and for women also a suit or nice blouse with slacks or a skirt (with pantyhose and dress shoes, usually heels) Business casual is a little more relaxed, such as a button up shirt (w/out jacket or ties for men) or a polo shirt with slacks or khaki pants. (Sorry, jeans and/or t-shirts are complete no-nos!) I would equate Business professional to the attire you would see at a lawyers office. Business casual is more like what you would see at a retail / department store.

Business professional is going to be either a dress suit, pantsuit or a dress (depends of course if a man or woman). Business casual is slacks and a nice blouse or shirt and tie. For a man, business professional is always a suit, with tie and jacket. It also general means that piercings, other than a single set of pierced earings, should not be visible to the public. Hair should be well-groomed - no punk-type bizarre hairstyles. Shoes are not sandles, can be heels or other enclosed type shoes, but not tennis or athletic shoes. Jewelry in the banking environment should not be garish or excessive. Excessive wearing of jewelry is also a security issue in that, in the event of a bank robbery, could make one more vulnerable - especially if it is expensive jewelry.

Why dont you use Thursday and/or Friday and go to your bank and see what the tellers wear?
More than likely, it is business casual.

I personally like to wear black pants that can be worn with one of those fitted short-sleeved Mossimo T-shirts from Target. On top of that, I will wear a business jacket.
Or for a top, you could do a cute sweater set.

Even though your feet will more than likely not be seen by customers, try to avoid open-toed shoes. If you need to, you can find some cute, professional black shoes at Payless or Walmart.

Since I'm a recruiter, and I'm always walking applicants in and out, I have actually found these sketchers that are AMAZING!!! They look like flats, but are actually sneakers!! My feet have never felt better!

Good luck, and congrats on the new job!!!

Business dress is a suit or a dress or a pants suit. It is minimal makeup with great hair grooming. It is nice shoes with nylons. Business casual is not what you wear to go out with buddies, it is a nice pair of slacks and a very good looking blouce. No tee-shirts, no jeans, no short skirts, no shorts, no sportswear, no tennis shoes, etc.

Your presentation as a bank teller is as a representative of the bank, a first impression each and every time.

it would be helpful to know if you are a male or female. My office is business casual. That means suits are not required for men or women. Men do not have to wear ties; women don't have to wear skirts. But we cannot wear jeans, sneakers or jogging suits/workout clothes. We can't wear t-shirts with logos or sayings. In the summer, the dress code gets stricter for ladies. There are restrictions on the type of shoes (they prefer no open toe sandals) and we can't wear thongs. We can not wear sleeveless or spaghetti straps or shorts. Capris are okay.

Business casual male: Polo shirt/chino pants, bland colors, belt, not dress shoes but semi-formal shoes (not tennis shoes or sandals). No jeans. Pressed clothes.

Business casual female: Tucked in shirt or blouse/chino pants or nice skirt, bland colors, low heels (stay away from sandals, they can look tacky).

Business professional female: Nice long-sleeved blouse (if very thin, wear a chamoise), dress pants or skirt (polester/cotton blend); bland colors; low to medium high heeled shoes.

Business professional male: Dress cotton shirt (long sleeve); tie; dress pants; decent belt; bland colors; dress shoes (ones you have to polish).

Good luck!

I like women in jeans. It creates them look more city like and it generally does not appear to be they are trying too much but if you are trying to get this men attention, this may not be what you want

I really do enjoy putting on long skirts occasionally. They are simply actually convenient than Trousers rather than as hot to wear also.
