Where in the world are they allowing full contact fights for 6th graders?
If this is a school yard fight then you should take the advice of the majority of answers and decline the invitation. People get seriously hurt in full contact matches.
If I am reading this message wrong and this is somehow sponsored by your dojo or school, then your instructor should be able to advise you best.
I would prefer a match with a taller opponent because his center of gravity will be higher, so easier to knock off balance. This is coming from someone who is primarily a ground fighter. I would not want to face a taller and longer opponent in a striking match because his reach advantage will cause you some serious problems.
Again, I can't stress enough that if this is some sort of organized street fight that you should not participate. If this is the case then you demonstrate very little martial arts training for even considering such a thing.
Take care of your body. It is the most valuable possession you will ever own, and you only get one.

the four inch difference won't matter, especially if he is weaker than you.
However, this is only if you are of both equal fighting skills..
As for knocking him down, you could pin him to the ground for 10 seconmds, is that allowed? if so, do it.
If not, just knock him down again and again. It is very tiring to keep getting back up off the ground. Especially because hitting the earth and 15 mph is the same as the earth hitting YOU at 15 mph, it's like a giant fist.
The ground is your friend, unless you fall into it. Just make him hit the ground till he can't get up.
Either by tripping, kicking the back of his knee-followed by push, etc. whatever knocks him down.

Here's my advice kiddo.
Your smaller, use that to your advantage; meaning don't try to block so much, but instead try to avoid his punches (dodge). If he's a lot heavier than you and you block a punch he may be able to knock you down anyway, it's best to avoid them.
When you do avoid/dodge a punch there is often a good chance that your opponent is off balance, use that to your advantage and employ effective counter punches. Counter punching can be devistating if done correctly and used propperly.
Try to catch him in the nose a few times, it causes the eyes to water up, and bleeds easily.
Avoid the clinch unless you know what your doing in it. The bigger guy often has the advantage in the clinch simply becasue of his weight, he can wear you down. If you do get into the clinch, use knee strikes to the groin area, elbows to the facial area, and short uppercuts to the solar plexus (those will suck the air out of anyone after awhile).
Also if you get into the clinch don't let him pull your head down, becasue if he does you can expect a knee to the noggin. If he tries to go down and take your legs (he shoots on you) then go for the guiliteen choke, or sprawl.
Keep this up until you wear him down, then get behind him and go for the rear naked choke, once you choke him out, he will be down for awhile, possibly even the ten seconds you need to win the fight, but if he isnt' all the way out and starts to get up, foot stomp him to keep him down.
Having said all of that, I hope you understand how brutal a fight can be, and hopefully you realize that your opponent is going to be just as brutal to you if you go through with the fight. If there is no way out of it, then do whatever it takes, but if there is any possible way out of it, and I mean ANY possible way, then get out of it.

ok, my tips:
DO NOT GET URSELF TIRED NO MATTER WHAT!!!
use the least amount of energy and block all his hits
dont' do anything else but block
when you feel his hits start to weaken
keep blocking
when you really feel a decrease in energy
during a block, kick at his shin
he'll probably be tired by now so u have the advantage
your also smaller than him
thats a good thing
after you got him to the ground
BITE!!!
not hard, but hard enough
bite his shoulder so you can keep him down as you bite
bite for 10 seconds
bite until he starts bleeding a little but not alot
there you go
you held him down for 10 seconds
and oh, put your hands on his elbows and hold him to the down when you get him to the floor, put one knee on his stomach and one on his legs to pin him to the ground
GOOD LUCK!!!

K... I'm actually gonna give you real tips non like these homos
---
Lead with your non dominant arm...
Meaning have your body on an angle... (don't have your full body exposed, only one shoulder & leg... your non dominant one)
-
Always keep your hands high with your elbows tucked in... Best offense is a good defense, keep your hands about a foot away from your face but at that height
So if he punches you block with your arm and it will go back without hitting your face
---
Set up the big punch... Jab with your left arm and then once he is off balance take the big swing with your right arm and knock him out (if you are right handed... reverse if left)
---
Since you are on the smaller side... Keep your feet moving, go side to side and make him reach out to hit you... Since he is bigger he will have more body exposed, that is when you go in for the KILL
---
Good luck buddy... Knock him out cold!
I mean don't fight :P

ok little man listen first off harness the fear and adenaline you feel b4the fight! the fear you feel is the same as the enemy! an old man gave me this advice one time and i listened! Once you find out you are not made of glass you start to live life like it is supposed to be felt. you are a brick and you need to believe that. now if he is bigger than you you need to punch and move punch and move. let your smallness be to your advantage. let him throw a sloppy punch duck it and hit him right on the chin! that is the best spot to hit a person to knock them out i promise, good luck! remember you are NOT made of glass!!

Ya, grow up, it's not worth it. Sounds to me that you haven't been in many fights, otherwise you wouldn't be asking strangers for help. What happens when you get beat up, everyone will laugh at you and you will feel stupid. Don't do it, it takes more guts to walk away.

If your on Yahoo Answers asking....you've already lost. Especially with that "his height may defeat me" comment. Both of those are in violation of "Tank Abbott 101"(then again, so is eating vegetables & training) - so what do I know?

Clinch up with him (both your hands on the back of his head with your forearms on his chest) and fling him down. Drop into mount from there. Alternately you can leg sweep or kick him in back of the legs while pushing him from clinch. You could also just drop down, grab the backs of his legs and tackle him right down. Just hold him from there. If you're got strength/weight just pulled him in a headlock and spin him to the floor. No matter what, make sure you're on top when it goes down.
