religion (Christianity) a stumbling block to people who want to know Jesus as their savior?

Big-time, I'm thinking.

Much as I dislike the obvious juvenile stuff on R&S, I'd rather see that than the depths some nominal Christians will sink to here to discredit or malign another Christian sect.

It's enough to make you weep. Christians=love? The greatest commandment Christ gave to us, and this is what some of us do for the world (or at least this part of it) to see? Nice going, brothers and sisters. There are some days when the most rabid anti-Christians hardly need to post at all -- just watch Christians go at each other.

I've come very close myself and I can think of at least one recent answer where I got inappropriately snarky with another believer. It's hard to see complete garbage posted by other Christians about my Catholic faith, even when the question is obviously baiting us, and not give in to that first instinct to fire off a tart answer. But we do bear the responsibility to not be a stumbling block to anyone.

Disagreeing is one thing. Getting ugly about it is quite another. I don't think there's ANY justifiable reasoning for that.

To start at the beginning of Christianity remember the Roman Empire ruled the old world. They were atheists They worshipped pagan gods. Statues.
They hated Jesus, called him a liar, and eventually arrested him and killed him. About 40 years later they found all these books about Christianity. Since they tried but couldn't stop the people from believing in what Jesus said. They decided to start this Catholic Church and control all the people. They decided to throw out whatever books they didn't like and keep the ones they did.
They didn't allow women to speak freely then much like the women live now in Afganastan. So they would not allow parts in the bible about Jesus being married to Mary and having a child. She was also his favorite apostle because she truly understood what he was saying about LOVE thy neighbor ect. and the men could not even conceive the idea of love they were just warriors of old "renowned". They could never conceive of the idea a that a woman could teach them anything. They tried to incorporate holidays celbrated by every country around them so they could lure them into this new religion called Christianity. Over the years many priests broke away from the church to start thier own religion. Like Luther he started the Lutherin Church, the Presbyterian church, and on and on. The main thing they agreed on was Jesus was the son of God. And the Holy Ghost, and this was called the holy trinity, the father, son, and holy ghost. They argue over man made principles. Because they were all man made rules. If the romans didn't print the truth to begin with how could anyone know the truth or what exactly did Jesus say. Everyone always has an opinion on what He meant when he said this or that. They are just guessing. And personally I believe that he meant "ye must be born again before ye enter the gates of heaven" we must be born again into this world before we go to heaven. I believe in re-incarnation. Now watch how many people attack me for my beliefs. The arguing will end when we die. Then we will either come back to live again or go Home to Heaven.

Christians may argue over doctrinal differences but I think for the most part we get along fine. We are people just like you and when talking about our faith it is a subject of passion so debates can get over zealous. That doesn't change the position of Christ. If you are looking at Christians to be perfect people you will be disappointed. Christ is the only perfect one. You should look to Him and not people. Are you perfect? Well, if you do become a Christian you still will not be. However, you will be forgiven.

It doesn't help God's cause. But I'd have to say that the petty discussions Christians have does not stop a person from coming to God especially when it is God himself who moves on a person's heart. We don't. Our minor disagreements do not alter the message of Christ resurrected at all. The great majority of us agree on that point.

at the start, actual christians do beleive in carbon courting. next, you would be able to desire to study somewhat extra advantageous, via fact it says "the deep became into broken up and is derived from the deelp welled up" Whcih ability that the cistern device became into additionally pouring water as much as the exterior. "The Bible became into written by ability of adult males and who can proove adult males did not exaggerate or write approximately miracles which may be defined by ability of technology?" do not make absolute statements in case you have not have been given any clue as that's defined by ability of technology, for each helping scientist you come across that helps your place, there are equivalent helping the different, you merely want to forget approximately them via fact of mass media brainwashing. Now, as some distance via fact the dinos, ther eis in basic terms one place in the international that has no fossilized keeps to be of dinos, and that's the desolate tract area of the middle east, the closest is in considerable africa, so this might clarify dinos not being written approximately in the Bible. desolate tract ability no vegetation, and meaning no super animals for the beef eaters to stay to tell the tale. Come on, you act sensible, yet have not have been given any ability to think of for your self. not all christians have self assurance the earth is a few thousand years previous, the cautioned ones know the earth is older. yet to have self assurance in evolution is common out stupid. For something to be a "theory" as utilized by ability of recent technology claiming it as fact ability you have to be waiting to do the comparable test many times with the comparable, expected effects, and evolution would not meet this requirement. to place it bluntly, prepare me the transitional fossils, and that i'm not talking approximately point to point, however the completed transition. you won't be able to via fact it would not exist. next, the Ark, returned, it relies upon on what scientist you confer with. this would nicely be a futile attempt to sell evolution over a larger being and you have not have been given any floor to stand and are working your little parrot capture without an entire training.

Matthew 12:25And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

[verses taken from kjv]

U cant do matthew 18:19 with division.

Matthew18:19[kjv]Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Christianity is more a relationship with GOD through JESUS.a person religious acts all his life wont do him any good without JESUS.He is hopeless but with JESUS he is saved.

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

We all fall short from the glory of God. We need Jesus. The church is the hospital for sinners. : )
