Well for sure it does not sound like you need to do a windows re install that I saw suggested to fix a acrobat issue. You should however un-install the program via the add/remove programs and the control panel. Once you removed it it may be a good idea to get a free registry scanner and scan and remove bad registry components. Then reboot and reinstall the acrobat.
Also I just read that you can't uninstall so if you search the adobe website for a script for uninstalling or how to manually uninstall.
Good luck

If it is the reader program and not a corrupted file that it is trying to open, then you can download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader @ adobe.com it is small enough not to be a pain for dial-up and is definitely a must have, just make aure to uninstall the old version first ;)

>>>Damaged or corrupted Windows Installer files can cause problems when trying to load software. If Add/Remove Programs doesn't help you then you should look to the Windows Support Tool Windows Installer CleanUp Utility for more assistance. This removes the folders, files, registry keys and entries from your PC that are put there when an application is installed using Windows Installer. The utility provides you with a simple dialog window to help you identify the problem application. You can get the utillity here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

You have probably deleted some of it's library files. I am surprised you can't re-install it, try a straight download and install.
