Every year, my children's school has the kids make end-of-the-year-books. These are created by the students, follow any subject, and are hardbound by the PTO. They are priceless treasures from childhood, and I can't imagine ever losing them. I'd have to count all 9 books as one item, and next up would be the hand prints they presented me with when they were in first grade.

can I make it clear that pets don't count as things, because things are technically inanimate objects. I think your pet, unless they were like a turtle or a hamster, would have enough sense to get out of the house if they could.

So aside from my cat. I would save my computer and my phone. Not because those are the most important to me, but because those would be most useful in getting back up on my feet. I really have nothing that I would risk my life for. Those things exist outside my house. After all, they call it a backyard for a reason

That's not two items, it's two kinds of items. And 'memorys' is a pretty vague category.

I would save...

1) Favorite picture album of my family

2) The picture that my sister drew of Jesus when she was 7 and gave it to me, for christmas.

Assuming i already have my cellphone.

Do pets count as belongings? If they do, my dog and cat.
If they count as family, which they should, I'd grab pictures as well and a picture my grandma painted for me.

I can't think of anything that I would want.

Probably a pair of pants so I didn't get arrested.

Good question...I wonder what most of our initial thoughts were on this, before we had time to think much about it.
