I think that mexico is the way to go. But I dont think that cancun is the way to go, i just got back from cozumel and I would reccommend that or Talum over Cancun. Warm weather is always the way to go.

If you like to party, Cancun is tops. However if you like to get some culture you should go with Montreal.
Both have many advantages and disadvantages. Mexico is a third world country, even if you are staying in a tourist area. Great exchange rate and party city. However you still get a good exchange rate in Canada too. It depends on what you and your friends are looking for since they are so different. It really shouldn't be a hard choice for just that reason.
