Im going up to new york for a couple days this summer and i wanted to know what to pack im kinda chubby and only 14 and what kinda shoes do i wear tennis shoes, flip flops

well in the summer its pretty hot so bring a lot of shorts and vest an light clothes an tennis shoes will be great they will be very comfortable to walk around in NYC

Aside from being really hot here in the summer, it also tends to be humid, so the heat really sticks on you, you know? The buildings just grab and absorb the heat during the day, release it as the sun goes down, and also block most potential wind. So keep that in mind! Plus it's packed with other hot, sticky people. Also- I am addicted to flip-flops and I come home every night with the soles of my feet BLACK from the NYC general filth. I recently went home to Michigan for a week, wore the same sandals there the entire time, and had virtually no dirt on my soles in the evenings! In terms of style, there are so so so many people here that you could wear anything and fit in. But being a tourist, you'll probably want to pack something nice for a Broadway show and such events. Like low strappy heels, a cute skirt, and a black top that's in the modern longer-length that's so popular. Bring sunglasses!! All the fashionistas here lug around big chunky handbags, by the way, which is actually functional for you since you can fill it with your souvenir shopping and camera and stuff. Don't overpack!! Depending on your income level (or your parents', I guess I should say)... you can always buy an outift here, which will be fun, and will also guarantee that you feel cool in terms of current style AND weather!!

Depends on what part of NY you go too. It's hot and humid during the summer, getting really bad in August. Dress very light or you won't be happy. Shorts, t-shirt and flip flops are just find. However you will be walking a lot, so keep that in mind when choosing your sandal.
However you need to dress up just a little bit if going anywhere nice, especially at night.
