Some Muslims do yes, just like some Muslims are terrorists. Muslims are not supposed to because God said so. Yes, scientifically some good can come from it but the bad outweighs the good.
And tell me how many ppl truly drink for the health benefits? Very few...if you even knew how small ONE serving of wine really is you would be surprised.
Check out the link below to see if Jesus really drank it up like some of you say (God forgive you).

I use to drink in my young party days. I can't say I would never pick up a drink again. When I do 2 is my max. Still I haven't had a drink in years. I don't see the point really. What gets me is how can some people can go for young and partying to hardcore alcoholics instead of not touching it again. I think that drinking is recreational thing for young adults.

The Bible's original language is not English. So just because it says Jesus drank wine, that doesn't mean that was the original translation.
The wine he drank could be just grape juice. You'll never know. Most likely the rulers in power back then, forced the religious scholars to translate the original language so they can have alcohol.
The Koran is still in the original language of Arabic, so there's no misunderstanding--alcoholic drinks are banned.
Ask your local minister about what he thinks, there's a growing number of Christians that do not drink.

Yes, many Muslims drink alcohol.
Muslims are not SUPPOSED to drink alcohol, for the same reason that most religions forbid anything, they believe that alcohol will distance them from God and make them worse people.
There are plenty of things in the Ten Commandments that are good ideas to make you a better person, but most people can get away with things from time to time.

First of all, I am really proud of being a Muslim. I always thank God for creating me as a Muslim. Islam is the ONLY right religion that leads to Heaven.
And to your question about alcohol:
Yes Islam forbids alcohol in any form. There is an obvious reason for. Alcohol is a poison which is absorbed rapidly and carried in the blood stream to the brain. Drinking blurs a person's ability to distinguish between right and wrong. It dulls once sense and worst of all, weakens ones willing power. Drinking is responsible for crimes and many traffic deaths and injuries. It leads to talkativeness, and causes severe liver damage.

"Wisdom" is necessary for man to stay on the path to God.
Why do Christians eat pork products, as was forbidden in the Bible?
Right back atcha.......................!
And by the way the wine that was consumed in the times of Jesus had no sugar added, meaning it was non alcoholic....

Sure some do. But the devout ones do not. Alcohol impairs you, right? So why even taste it since you'll want to have a bit more then.
