I think it is a smart move for Dale Jr. and Martin Truex Jr. I think Dale Jr. needs to get away from DEI if he is unhappy there. Truex Jr. is a great talent and will only get better. I think Dale Jr. needs to win a championship though, before he retires and this is not his best option if the reports about him starting his own teams are true.

Oh, just figured it out! Tune into the press conference tomorrow.
The true reasons probably won't be expressed openly until a tell all book comes out.
Maybe because his step mother held too much control?

Politics may not play as big of a role in the team next year.

its really a shame, cuz dale sr. built that company as his legacy, for dale jr. to race with and take over one day.

I think they are better off.They were not doing any good at DEI.Of course DEI may not be the one to blame?
