I was in the Navy Seal Teams for 10 years. As far as being in harms way while being the Navy is slim. Also, when you do such duty you will get even more benefits, like not paying taxes, i.e. none, which I did when I was near a combat zone. Also, you get a lot of great experience while in the Navy. Look at the pros and cons of everything. I had a great time in the Navy, however I had a great job that most people don't get to do. Most important, if it doesn't work out you can not re-enlist, etc depending if your becoming an officer or not. The Navy will probably open more doors that you have now, just that you have to give it time and patience.

My question to you how many people are in the Navy. I dont know but more than one hundred. Must be something to being in the Navy. The Navy is an awesome and respectful way to earn a living. You are serving your country. They teach and provide you with discipline and experience that you can carry with you the rest of your life. Staying out of harms way is important too but remember it is the reaffirmation of life that keeps many people going. Working hard in the Navy goes farther than working hard as a civilian. If you want to get good connections in the government and life this is one way to go. You don't have any commitments, get out and see the world. Be a leader and demonstrate to others proper behavior-the Navy or whereever. But remember being in the armed forces is rewarding and honorable and a city job is also rewarding.

I would go with the NAVY, yeah you WILL travel a lot but its places you will most likely never see again. Next it opens tons of other jobs for yeah, for example my father was in the NAVY and after he worked with them for 10 years he got a job with the NSA making 100k and more a year. Now that he has retired he has the best medical and life insurance. So overall the NAVY is the way to go!

I'd go for the Navy. The armed forces is a brotherhood that will stay with you the rest of your life. Unless your going to be a Navy pilot or a Seal I highly doubt you would be in harms way. Your chances of being harmed on a US highway are better than in the Navy.

I truly believe that if you are single, with no responsibilities like children or sick relative you should experience as much as possible. The Navy can definitely provide that for you. Plus 60k a year and you get everything. Just make sure you don't sign a long term contract like 6 or 8 years. Plus if you actually like it, you could make it a career. Don't forget that you will get the praise of millions who look up to those in the armed forces.

I think you should go for the job that offers you more money b/c 40,000 vs. 60,000 per year is a big difference. As time passes by & a good opportunity to have more money comes your way, you shouldn't pass it up just b/c of changes that may occur. You want to focus on MOVING FORWARD in life & grabbing that opportunity, not being stuck at where your at. You did mention your not happy at your current job. Take that as a sign. Changes are a part of moving forward. You have to learn to adapt for this new job is a better life for you.
GOOD LUCK!

Hi there! Let me first say that if you are feeling anxiety about going into the navy, let that be a sign it isnt right for you. Do you want to be a part of a war? It seems that our president likes to fight all the time. Do you want to be a part of that? Do you want to support that type of thinking? I have a personal issue with this country that doesnt mind its own business. I think many people in the service are just ignorant to what is really going on.

I've been at mine a year and three months too! I have learned a good bit. I've never worked in this field before. I learned it in the first three days though. Other than that I've concentrated on becoming a P/S Superstar! ♥
