I quit gymnastics 2 years ago after being in it for about 9 years. It got me in really good shape, but even 2 years after quitting, i still have most of the muscle mass on my legs that i did when i was training. I don't mind some muscle, but i just look incredibly out of preportion. I'm only 5'3" and i'm about a size 0-2 on the top, but then a size 8-10 on the bottom.

i've done just about everything i could think of to get it off: distance running, not working out, high rep weight lifting...all with little or no results. I've heard fasting can cause your body to use your muscle for energy, but i'm not willing to do that unless i know i won't just put a bunch of weight back on in fat.

cardio - it reduces muscle AND fat. 4-6 times a week for 30-50min.
for weight (fat) loss people are advised to combine it with light weight training so they wont lose muscle, but you dont have to do that if you want to lose muscle. just do cardio.
