it's your right to share any file you wish as long as you're not infringing on someone's copyright. If you make your own music and want to distribute it, that's fine. Using these programs enable artists, programmers, etc. to get their work out there for more people to use that wouldn't otherwise have access to it. That's the whole idea behind it...to share information and knowledge with people who need and want it.
Of course, there are people who use it for other means, like stealing music and software from people who worked hard trying to produce a quality product. Because they put the work into it, they deserve to be compensated for it. If they weren't paid for it, a lot of the music and software we hear and use everyday wouldn't be here.

Let's see what we have got here. for any substance there are two faces. here file sharing too has two. like personal and organizational.
by personal i mean friends often unknown friends sharing files. this doesn't harm anyone.
but when it's organizational there in lies the problem, makes big way for piracy. if your question was about piracy i would have given you a logic by which you would have been perplexed. let's save that for later.
i can go on and on over this. if interested mail me.

My opinion if all these artists say "We dont care about the money, all we care about are the fans" then they shudnt care if the fans download there music, Music should be shared all over the world, and anyways artists dont even make that much off CD's they make more off concert sales, I approve of it, And artists Should not complain, They have enough money

If it is illegal, why are these sites allowed to run? They need to have some accountability also.
