Mostly, heredity.

In truth, it's nothing but the absence of melanin (pigment) in your hair. Most of the time, going gray is not caused by stress, or any other external factors. It's just a matter of your DNA.

Heredity or stress. My brother started getting gray hair the last year of high school. You know what they say about pulling gray hairs?! Pull one out and two grow back in its place. While it may only be an old saying they do seem to come in faster.

Genetics. My boyfriend is 34 and has a lot of gray. He started a long time ago. He tells me his Dad has been completely white for as long as he can remember.
I have met people that at have been completely gray by 30, so be happy you aren't. Just pull them until they get to be too many, then dye, that is if you don't like them.
