Yeah thats what I was thinking, wouldn't a guy be afraid that a woman might not respect him as much, if she made more money then him ??

Lady here who feels she MUST ANSWER!!

JK

Perhaps this works out for lots of couples, but I know one couple for whom it did not.

The wife was in a book club I attended and confided that she loved her husband, but was "So tired of carrying more weight financially..." that it was eroding her respect for him, making him seem less masculine.

Her opinion/experience--

So...it CAN go that way.

I'm not materialistic so I would only date a women I like. The money wouldn't matter. If you got married at some point it would be an adjustment on who paid what. I would always pay for the diner but I would let her take me to a concert or ball game or something. Oh and I don't make D*CK

Here's an interesting question for all of the girls who said that guys were sexist and that money should not matter: would you date a guy with a crappy job and NO money (like flipping burgers at the local grease pit)? If money doesn't matter, then why wouldn't you?

-------------edit----------

Thanks "mementomoron" for being honest. THAT is exactly what most men are afraid of when they date a more successful woman -- that she will lose respect for him.

i'm female but i want to make a comment on the question anywayz.

i dont see anything wrong with a guy dating a girl who makes more money than he does. i would date a guy who made less money than me. money is important but it doesnt measure a man's "manhood" and determine how much of a man he is. because he's getting up everyday making an honest living, instead of sitting around the house all day doing nothing, with no job, and not even trying to find a job.

Yeah, I would even date a woman who made no money. Its all about the girl, not about how much they make or what they wear, etc.

If two people are drawn together. I think that monetary things can be worked out. Anyway, if you should get serious, I believe you will become one. That would include the money too. Go for it. What do you have to lose?
