I know peole say they should stop fighting now and just come home, but really, what will happen if we leave iraq too soon? If we fail to establish a new government for them and to help them with secruity problems, what did we gain? I say we keep the troops in Iraq until they can function on their own and become strong, and to not withdraw until that happens. Still, what should we do?

If we leave Iraq before the job is done, then the chaos will just move westwards. We need to ensure that Iraq becomes a secure nation that has the ability to fight the terrorists. This is a crucial time in human history, and unfortunately many people do not understand what is at stake. It gives me hope to see others who think like I do over this matter. Keep the faith, and God bless America!

I agree with my brother who was a Marine in Viet Nam. We lost 4000 troops a week every week we were in Viet Nam. We haven't lost that many after 3 years in Iraq. We need to get the job done and let our military leaders make the decisions as to how it should be done. Part of the big problem with our current situation, is the MEDIA blows everything up into a big news story. These are things that happen in every war--such as the soldiers who were kidnapped. I am not saying that that is not important. What I am saying, is that it is a military matter and should not be a public news story. This only give more fodder for the enemy and incites the public because the public in general does not understand war.

God Bless our Military and the magnificent job they are doing. This whole middle east situation is in God's hands. May His will be done!

I say the job is as done as we can get it, the rest is up to The new Iraqi goverment. We need to make it perfectly clear that the "new" Iraq is thier responsibility, not ours. We've bailed out this region twice in the last two decades. We've given enough. Let it thrive or implode, which ever.

At the end of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, a lady asked Benjamin Franklin, "What have you given us?" He replied, "A Republic, if you can keep it." We have purchased an opportunity for Iraq and the entire Middle East with the blood and treasure of America. It was a noble endeavor for which all who served can be immensely proud. It is now time to see if the Iraqis can take advantage of the opportunity and "keep" what has been so dearly purchased.

It doesn't matter now either way. It was always going to end up as a mess as most people who new anything about the history of Iraq were warning. This is why the Germans and French refused to get involved.
The USA is trying to bring democracy to Iraq but the only certainty if that happens is that they will elect a government which is friendly to Iran and hostile to America.
Bush has put America's head in the lion's mouth and the next move will bring disaster whatever it is.

Before i say we need to pull the troops out I still don't know what the job is. 1st we were looking for Saddam's WMD's...then we wanted to overthrow Saddam we did and he is now dead....so what are we doing now........we are trying to install our form of democracy into a country that neither wants us or really needs us. There have been wars in this area since Biblical Days and now our president is thinking he is going to bring peace into a region that don't want us there. Suppose for a moment it was us with China in our backyard saying they weren't going to leave until we conformed to their belief's,how long before we would band together and start to kill as many as we could in any manner we could. Our problem and the world's problem is President Bush thinks he can force his will on people and they will just blindly say okay, but if they stand up and fight back for what they believe in then they are criminal's. i think maybe the only person wrong is President Bush of course his ego will never allow him to admit he was wrong about anything.

If we just pull the troops out now, when the Middle East is still all corrupt, we would have wasted all of the dead soldier’s lives. The minute that we take our troops out the insurgents will rise and grow stronger and Iraq will go back to the way that it was before the USA was involved. So all of the lives and all of the money will just be wasted if the troops are pulled out.

You know, a lot of the troops would be completely pissed off if we pulled out. How many of their friends have died over there, and if we pulled out, it's for no reason. Most of our troops believe we're winning this war. It's the American people who have never set foot over there that think we're losing. And all the Media talks about is how many people have died. Maybe they should talk about how more people die in Washington DC a month than they do in Iraq, and how we should pull out of there! If we pull out, they will follow us home. It's just a matter of time. People are too stupid to realize it.

At this point, they could be pulled out before thier job is revealed. Seriously, folks, if you want someone to do a job, it helps to tell them what it is.

Defeat the Baathist army? Done.

Depose Sadam? Done.

Eliminate WMDs? Done. (they were just some rusty canisters of mustard gas, but we got 'em).

Capture Sadam? Done.

Usher in a Democratic Iraq? Done (they had elections! It's not our fault they didn't elect nice people.)

What else are they supposed to do? End the civil war? The only way to do that is pick one side and anihilate the other two. That'll go over well at the UN.

yes they should they had no reason to go over there in the first place, how would you feel if somebody came in your house and said u can protect yourself, while everybody else has guns but all you are aloud to have is a bat,it doesn't make since, I'm not saying things were right over there but that kind of stuff goes on every where.far as I'm concerned there was no job over there in the first place, the only other reason for being over ther is because america wants to take over the world .

OMG..why are u ppl so ******* stupid? We should pull out, every day more soldiers are dieing, more kids without fathers or mothers, u should be real proud u helped promote that u ignorant jackass. The war will never be won, these people have been fighting since the beginning of time, and will allways be. Theres no solution other than let them kill each other off. And most people still think the iraqi's love us, well they dont! They hate us, throw rocks at us, shout at us, they dont want us there anymore. So let the chaos keep going or nuke em. I like the idea of NUKING them the best. But i say we pull out, we're not welcomed. How about going and reading a bit u insane idiots!
