A priest was born in 1914 in Chicago with convulsions. Three days after his birth he was taken to South Side Chicago Hospital. The Drs. didn't know what to do for him so they decided to give him a large dose of aspirin to see if that would stop the convulsions. The Drs. were in the medicine room preparing the injection when a nun all dressed in her black habit went in to the room and prayed over the baby. The convulsions immediately stopped. This priest had an occasion to meet with a contemporary mystic who had been held in a Russian prison where the temperature was 60 below but he miraculously survived by the Blessed Virgin's intercession. When he was introduced to this priest he told him "Oh so you are the priest that Mother Cabrini told me I would meet later. She was the one who prayed over you when you were a baby." This very same priest is the oldest working priest in the Americas. He still says Mass as often as he can and he travels around teaching wherever he can. Nice huh?

Is this true?

If it is I'm very touched.

Midge,
Thank you. Yes, very nice.
(Also, knowing you'd be set upon by mean people you still told this story, you have more courage than I do. I am too tired of humanity to give them a chance at hurting my feelings anymore.)

Thanks for the story. I have never heard of Josyp Terelya. I'll try to read more about him on the internet. Do you have any good links about this mystic and his work?

Nice story until you said the Blessed Virgin's intercession miraculously helped him. The Blessed Virgin is no longer a virgin and has been dead for a couple thousand years.

And what proof do you have? Without proof this is just another "walking on water" story.

Here are some more true stories: hundreds of babies were born with crippling and painful birth defects last week. When their parents prayed to God for a healthy baby, God was as deaf as a rock.
