i need to know this for school and i cant find a website that gives me that exact answer. i need like 3 paragraphs about how it works, if you know a long explanation i would appriciate that, or if you know of a website that directly answers that, that would be really nice...and cool

Lighters use an old practice from many years ago. Flint is a rock that when in contact makes a spark. Its a natural rock discovered by the neanderthals (elaborate that from the internet).

Those are 3 sentences that be expanded into paragraphs with the help of the internet search.
