ok whenever my car is in D, R, 1st or 2nd there is a tingy clingy sound coming from under the hood... it doesnt make this sound while in park or neutral. The sound seems to be coming from down low kind of near where the underdrive pully is located. could this be the timing chain and sprockets. i'm told if it is, its cheap to replace and it really causes no harm but its freakin annoying so i want it fixed

I have worked on a lot of engines with bad timing chains, and none made that kind of noise. If the chain and gears were worn that bad, engine performance would be compromised.
I would look for a heat shield loose over the starter or exhaust system. With a load on the engine the vibration will be worse than with no load.

FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS REMOVE THE BELT IN ORDER FOR YOU TO ISOLATE WHERE THE NOISE COMES FROM,HAVE SOMEBODY LISTEN WHILE YOU SIT IN THE CAR PUTTING LOAD ON THE ENGINE,IF THE NOISE IS COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE THER EIS A GOOD CHANCE THAT THE CHAIN AND GEARS ARE WORN.THERE IS AN UPDATED VERSION OF THE GEAR SET FROM MOPAR THAT YOU CAN USE.YOU MAY ALSO END UP REPLACING THE OIL PAN GASKET COZ A SECTION OF THE TIMING COVER SITS ON THE PAN.IT'S NOT GONNA BE EASY DOING THIS ON YOUR BACK.I SUGGEST TAKE IT TO SHOP AND HAVE THEM DO THE JOB .HOPE THIS HELPS.
