I would like to put the words of Don Imus behind me just as probably the most of you do. But there are some many things that happen in our country that brings racial splits to surface. It seems Don Imus' comments were one. Is it just mean or do most blacks feel that justice was served when Imus was fired while most whites feel that it was unnecessary and extreme.

Well, first off...I don't think any person of any background has to the right to make racist remarks on public television. I think it was justified. Absoultely 100% justified. How dare he degrade people soley for being female and for being black. African American women have it rough enough with all the degradation coming from the entertainment business. It's disguisting. These women worked hard, earned scholarships and excelled. Don Imus had no right to say what he said. And just because I am white doesn't automatically make me stand for someone like Imus, I'll be mad if, because of the color of my skin, if I get lumped in the same group as him. People of all walks of life and nationalities need to realize that we are all one blood...one race. We are human. No one is more "evolved" or less "evolved" than anyone else. When people (nearly everyone is guilty of it from time to time) start to divide people by color or other phyiscal attributes it infuriates me. The part that infuriated me the most about the Imus contraversy ( I never even heard of him prior to his scandle) is his cavalier use of the word "ho". Why is it that when a woman suceeds or refuses to be treated like a mere sex object, she is called a ho or a B*tch? People like Imus, intentional or not, are reinstating the class ceiling with comments like that. I can't be assertive or strong without being called a dog. Appearently women need to be submissive wall flowers. No. I won't take comments like that, from anyone... black, white, asian, etc.
