It's your basic "OMG NOT FROM MY CULTURE EVILLLLL" attitude. Humans are naturally xenophobic; don't hold it against her. Pity her ignorance.

This nonsense has been going on for a while now. "It comes from the East and they actually worship demons in those religions". It probably has to do with Yogic disciplines being a part of Hinduism. Just foolish ignorance people who make claims like these do not usually even know anything about meditation or yoga they just read some far fetched explanation in a Christian book. I dont know how they can't see that a Christian book about other religions is completely biased and usually these books also subtly twist facts to make something appear evil. The same with any occult or mystical discipline.

I'm christian and I like yoga. I suppose if you're in one of those yoga halls that have a hindu statue or something it could be seen as wrong, especially if you're suppose to bow to it, but most don't do that. I've heard it before, but I don't get it.

They think that yoga and meditation, which originated in Hinduism, is of the devil because Hindus don't believe in Jesus. I think that you can meditate on Jesus just as much as you can on Shiva, Ganesh or any other god for that matter. It's like saying that if you pray, you can only pray to this god. You can pray to differnet gods and you can meditate on/do yoga for different gods as well.

Because yoga originated as a form of physical prayer to the god yogashwara. What Christian is going to worship a false god in any form?
