I'm auditioning for a choir and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for the song I should prepare.

pick a song that you know well! like if you are better at slow songs use a slow one. but also pick one that reall demonstrates your talent, dont pick something that is too easy.

If you have any way of finding out what the choir's repetoire is, maybe that would give you a better idea on what to sing. In general, choose something that shows off your range from top to bottom and is in a style that suits you best. If you sing classical best, then go with that. If you sing musical theatre best, then go with that. I wouldn't go with a pop tune because choirs don't generally sing pop. Good luck!

The first answer posted here was great. I personally would add don't sing anything spiritual/christian. It turns a lot of directors off; I know that from experience, not prejudice. Leave church songs alone.

Pick a song that you know and sing very well. Or pick something like, Amazing Grace, Listen to Your Heart, or any song that you know well. Be creative!
