I have a basement with a concrete floor and no carpet, however we had a cat that urinated down there. Is there a cleaner that I can use to get rid of the smell?? I tried mopping with urine gone and most of the smell did go but some is still there. Can anyone help me?? Thank you.

I like the product called odorban for use with all pet issues. This is some great stuff yet is earth friendly in that it is biodegradable. I purchase the gallon containers at Sam’s Club and cut it with water according to the labels directions. This is serious industrial cleaner and is NOT Windex.

It is also great mixed weak in a spray bottle and misted over the carpet to control the general pet smells.

You may be able to use a product called PetZyme available at Petsmart. I tried Urine Gone with little results. We recently discovered this product and were pleased with the results. (However, the instructions call for allowing the product ten minutes to thoroughly saturate the floor - I left it about four hours.) One thing: I don't know how this product would work with wood floors. It says "Ideal for use on carpets, upholstery, pet beds, clothing, and other surfaces." It doesn't specifically mention wood, and I'm not sure what this will do to the finish. Of course, technically, the floor is ruined anyway, so I don't think you have much choice than to risk ruining the finish. You'll need a blacklight to find the exact locations of the urine. Petsmart sells one called a stinkfinder. Walmart has a blacklight that is larger and less expensive. What you might have to do is this; Once you locate the odor, if the product doesn't work on wood, then you may need to call a carpenter (seriously) to come in and remove the hardwood and subflooring that has been soaked with cat urine. You have no way of knowing how long that's been there...or how long the cat was allowed to urinate in the room. Sometimes there's only one way to get rid of that smell...and that's ripping out everything that has been in contact. I hope it doesn't come to those extremes, but if it does, remember the blacklight trick. That may keep you from having to redo the entire floor, and save you some money! Good luck! We have five cats, so you have our sympathies!

Try a spray called Out. It takes away the smell and the stain. You probably get it at a pet store.

Mix bleech with water about 2 part bleech and 8 part water.
Spray the stuff every where. Turn on some fan and let the air circulate.

Look on-line for a product call anti-icky-poo. It's used at crime scenes as it breaks odor causing bacteria from bodily fluids/organic matter. Good stuff!
