Indeed, an evolving world (which is a must) will necessarily smother faith. By and large, people will live by what they know instead of what they are told to believe. The process is on already.

If you use the language the way you intended, the statement means that the failure of faith, or the assertion that the only logical conclusion is that there is no deity is a temporary (adolescent) stage of human development, and we'll grow out of it.

I wholeheartedly agree...

Ask any adult about the seemingly magical process by which our parents became stupid in our eyes during puberty, and grew vastly in wisdom as we became parents ourselves.
