You should be able to delete one of the partitions unless it is the primary boot partition (C: drive).

The best way to go would be to back up your data and boot from CD and delete both partitions then recreate them and then reinstall your OS.

Put your XP CD into the CD drive just as if you were going to load XP. When you come to the page where it asks if you want to load windows, do not do so. Instead, follow the instructions on removing a partition. Remove the one you no longer want, Recreate the partition and format it.

The Anti Virus software will continue to work after the 1 year period, however you will not be able to download imporant updates after that year. Any new viruses will be able to infect your PC. My advice is don't purchase any anti-virus software when there is a better free alternative, AVG.

AVG Free is the best anti-virus out there right now. Norton is total junk, uses up a lot of system resources and you have to pay for it. Avast is also a good free anti-virus. You can download AVG from the link below. There is absolutely no spyware and it is completely free.

Use Gparted, it's bundled with the System Rescue CD, it's 100% free and legal. It's a Linux Bootable CD but it's not hard to use just RTM.

Ciao! :)
