First of all, it wasn't a 'snake' - that's modern perception.
the Bible calls the Creature a 'serpent" - Revelation also calls Satan a 'Dragon, the Serpent of Old' - my bet is that is the one and only Dragon that was speaking to Eve in the Garden.
PS. You are wrong about the fruit, too. The fruit is never described, however. Modern perception, again.

there is conflicting versions of the serpent of the bible, Its my understanding that the serpent was a weasel like animal but hey what do I know. sure could go for some apple pie though.
