Just because you read about prosisitution in the Bible does not mean that it is right or God's idea.
Prostitution is often referred to as the "oldest profession." Indeed, it has always been a common way for women to make money, even in Biblical times. The Bible tells us that prostitution is immoral. Proverbs 23:27-28 says, "A prostitute is a deep pit; an adulterous woman is treacherous. She hides and waits like a robber, looking for another victim who will be unfaithful to his wife."
God forbids involvement with prostitutes. "For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil; But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death, Her steps lay hold of hell" (Proverbs 5:3-5).

God gave man free will. Since then all man has done is do everything he told them not to do. Not for his sake....but for our own. Prostitution is wrong for a host of different reasons. Guess that's why there's so many examples of where it's been wrong. Don't think discussing it means he condones it. There's a lesson in there ment for us to learn.

The Bible is by no means whitewashed. It has intances of incest, rape, murder, infanticide, genocide, etc., et. al. The purpose is to show that man is by nature sinful, and inherently evil. It is by God's restraining hand that we haven't destroyed everyone around us. Why? Who knows the mind of God? But scripture teaches He allows bad so that good might be made known, and all sin will be punished in the end. Not pretty, but accurate.
