Do you think that yahoo answers is being used to abuse Islam?

I mean how many of you think that yahoo answers has become a platform for some anti muslim people to vent out their frustrations? And do you think that yahoo answers is supporting these people? Has any one of you ever reported abuse to yahoo answers and no action was taken?So, what do you think is Yahoo Answers responsible to get such people out of here?

I just reported Skinhead...let's see what happens. I also think that way more people have been introduced to Islam on here than have been scared away. In fact I converted to Islam recently because of the thoughtful, intelligent and kind answers by the true Muslims on Y!A.

Yes I do. I have reported a few people and nothing was done about it. I think Yahoo is run by Christians and hotmail is run by Jews. Yes I think Yahoo is supporting these people. Really sad about this as Muslims try to speak the truth and instead get slandered for it.

If you went through a lot of questions in this category, you will find generally people attacking others.. Muslims attacking Christians, Christians attacking Muslims, Muslims and Christians attacking Athiests..
Oh and also in other categories, Straights attacking Gays, Gays attacking straights, A cat person attacking a dog person, and vice versa :-)

So cheer up, it's not personal.. It's very natural.
Some people here believe, if somebody doesn't follow their own way of thinking, in other words, if somebody's different, then that gives them the right to attack because they think they are the only ones who are right and eventually, those bunch of different attacked people, attack back. So it's not gonna end this way.
What you should do is, respect other prospectives and beliefs, and give the simplified advice if neccesary.
Also, as long as you hold to your faith, believe in it and love it, then you're safe, and able to give the right advice people need :-)

well one feels that when some one bashes ones religion .It is sad that nearly every religion faces such scum on yahoo..and one feels yahoo is not doing enough.For i know,I hv been sent violation notifications for the dumbest reasons..and one goes back and wonders who is running yahoo!A and do they not see or cannot read or understand english ?.Cause i send them a mail back asking them to investigate..once or twice i was given back the points..but still.. what some ppl have started to do is make fake Id of users using Yahoo to confuse the rest of the people here..and i bet yahoo!A knows about it..cause i my self have reported that person who has done that to me..but i still see him here with my Avator and my nick..and every time i change it..he changes it too,to the same Avator n nick as mine!...so to shorten it..some people here have such sick n corrupted minds that they would stoop to any level...n i hope yahoo takes good n a fast action against such ppl.

I agree with you. It is not only with Yahoo!Answers but other chatrooms or organizations like this. I am not a Muslim or Islamic at all and I even feel offneded sometimes with the questions I read and see as well as some of the answers! It is as if they have a whole entire category for ANTi-MUSLiMS! this is preposterous and completely ignorant and rude!

Ive never noticed that. Mainly it seems to be Christian v Atheist.

There is a chat site called "Paltalk" I used some time ago, and that site has various rooms for conversations,including religion. Now on there I saw terrible abuse mainly from Christians to Muslims. You check that out and you will see what I mean.

I don't think Islam is being abused any more than any other religion - although being an (originally) American site, there are fewer Muslims than Christians using the program, for example, which might make it seem "worse."

Still, don't you think that Yahoo Answers is a better forum for that kind of "abuse" than the real world - let them hack it out here rather than on the street?

i think that this is a forum where bashers love to target any religion that they are untolerant towards. it isn't just us in Islam, i see Christians get hassled along with other religions. even Atheists get hassled on here. i see it all the time all over. Yes, Islam is one of the top three that is bashed. and i make a daily fling to come on here and look for Q just for Islam. rather it is regarding Islam or bashing it. I try very hard to keep my cool and tolerance but sometimes because i am human i loose my cool. but i have been working on this. i take a deep breath and i say a little prayer. it works for me.

This is an open forum and can't be 100% monitored. Islam is not the only religion that is bashed on this site. You also see a lot of Christian bashing and Atheist bashing...and every once in awhile you will see those groups bashing other groups...It happens, luckily we are mostly all adults who can differentiate between truth and bigots.
