Hmmm. okay I guess that works if I ever memorized anything or went to Sunday school.
I do think for myself and consider myself fortunate. Fortunate that I don't have to hang out in a place call Religion & Spirituality and constantly put down others who practice Religion or Spirituality. In otherwords thankful I'm not you.
Don't you have a video game to play or something.
Atheism isn't real its a religion made up in your head to explain away God so you don't have to be accountable for your actions. You claim the universe started in the big bang. The fact is its not even a theory yet its a hypothisis which means a guess. Nor does the big bang explain where matter came from in the first place. The entirty of your faith is based on what you hope is real. In religious circles thats called faith. Just plain blind faith.

You lack understanding of religion. People do not believe because they need magic in their lives or because their lives are bad. Believing does not mean you get a "get out of jail free card" to a perfect life.
Frankly, a great deal of us are free thinkers. And the others who are not are just going to say you are the one with the blinders on.

I don't quote "memorized Sunday School answers"
I quote the Word of God.
And I DO think for myself; I choose LIFE, and more abundantly, through God and relationship with my Personal Saviour Jesus.
Since Jesus birth, life, death and resurrection has already been conclusively proven, where's the "magic" you speak of?
Is this love just too simple for you?

I guess I would be one of those "nut jobs" since I am without a doubt a Christian. I believe you are confusing faith in God with magic from wicca. Why do you find it so hard to accept that some people have enough courage to believe in something that can't be seen with human eyes? I'm sorry that your scarred of our faith, however, I hope you may one day understand the awesome feeling of having a Loving God in your corner.

In a way, there is some truth to your statement. Believing in mythical Beings creates dependency and when this beliefs fails, the person becomes depressed or disappointed.

Ooh, I'm scary! Boo!
That's what I was told to say
And I would never do something without being told
Cause second-hand knowledge about personal matters, like how my soul works, is good enough for me.
I have an ancient text to back it all up.
Old books prove everything
Especially extremist theology bent upon global conquest.
Now, excuse me
I need to get back to praying for the world to end.

Most people know that they're fooling themselves. That's why they fear death, and they mourn at funerals. This is also why funerals have far more to do with discussing God than they do in reviewing the lives lost; people are reminded of their own mortality, and need the reassurance. Again, they know they're full of it, because instead of celebrating the departure (which they should be doing if they honestly beleive everyone goes to that great big members-only golf club in the sky--everyone except those who think and beleive differently than they do, of course), they cry. They need comforting. And they become just like a kid watching a horror movie--only instead of chanting, "It's only a movie...it's only a movie...it's only a movie..." they're chanting, "God will take care of me...God will take care of me...God will take care of me..."
And this God guy also allows them to judge everyone who isn't like them! Gives them a reason to tell others how to live! Neat, eh?
I, myself, outgrew the need for imaginary friends when I turned six. Thanks for the opportunity to vent!

Typical Athiest...I have to believe in God. If I thought like you and your choice was my only choice, I'd hang myself. Youre so close minded about *everything*. Your life must SUCK.

Here here. The worst part is they can do monstrous things and feel justified in doing it, just because it said so in the bible. Just read Leviticus to see what I mean.
