Also, my husband and I are in no way related but we didn't need a blood test to get married. Don't know where that idea came from. If you want to get married in the Catholic Church, you do have to go through some prenuptial classes. My Methodist friend said her church makes you do that too so maybe it's a christian marriage requirment.
You can't marry a first cousin but that has nothing to do with religion - that's just to prevent birth defects (and also because it's GROSS!!!!)

No. Marriages are forbidden between those 1st cousin or closer.
Also- marriages are forbidden between direct lines, even if only related by marriage. IE- a man cannot marry his daughter-in-law or niece and step siblings cannot marry.

Why don't people think before they generalize or stereotype? The pope was in the Hitler Youth, and you would have been too if you were living in Nazi Germany, do't try to say "oh, no I wouldn't" because you would not have been so brave when the Gestapo was knocking on your door at night.

Non Catholics are allowed to marry first cousins, but it is not generally encouraged.

I don't think so. But I do know their neighbors the Orthodox do. However they require blood tests prior to the union. To be sure.

Their priests are gay pedos, their Pope was a Nazi. I don't think it's wise to adhere to their church's rules anyway.
