You can Just check the Spark plugs or get ur truck a tune up. sometimes due to lot of miles spark plugs don't work efficiently. so try changing them. My friend had same kind of truck but he gets like 19 -20 miles per gallon.

Look up your mileage rating at
Fueleconomy.gov 2wd or 4wd, they get about 16-17 mpg
If you want high fuel economy, switch to something with a diesel or hybrid....not much you can do with your vehicle other than keep it maintained well...tuneup, correct tire pressure, drive carefully--no quick starts, add fuel injector cleaner once every couple months, remove any unnecessary items to reduce weight, drive at 55-65 MPH max--fuel economy suffers as a function of speed, any thing over 45 MPH start to degrade economy, turn off truck if idling for long periods, try not to run the a/c. Most SUV's of that year range were pretty simliar in fuel economy. Paul

What are you able to do? It appears like you may do no longer some thing. in case you aren't any more obd2 compliant there is little or no everybody (such as your self) is going to be in a position to do to boot allow you to understand a good purchase of stuff that isn't restore the project. i ought to assume it really is a MAF/MAP project yet you opt to take it to a mechanic and submit to in recommendations that this "truck" is wisely worth per chance 500 money max.

The average is 15mpg city, 20 highway so it's not too far off. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just the extra weight of the wheels.
